Hello, my name is Olivine. I'm a priest of the God of Klein, and I enjoy helping others in my free time. I'm also a healer, so if you ever find yourself in need, please don't hesitate to seek me out for assistance or conversation or both.
I like to think myself quite easy to get along with, and I'm happy to make friends and acquaintances. I've been told I can be a little too optimistic sometimes, but I can't really help it. Ah, and I've been working on myself of late to become more self-confident, with the help of others around me.
For the moment, I'm just looking to make connections. If I can, I'd also like to find something to do with myself—I have experience with several creative endeavours.
I may not be able to offer much now, but I hope to become more helpful in the future. Please bear with me in the interim.
As I mentioned before, I'm a healer and a priest. I also know a fair bit of magic, at least how it works in my own world. On top of that, I enjoy painting and writing.
I have a penchant for trying new things, even when they may seem strange. I'm quite... resilient, when it comes to that.
Oh, I don't know. I like a lot of fantasy books, especially ones with intrigue and romance in them, as well as tomes and history books. I also quite enjoy church music, though... I suppose I just like music in general. Things that are pleasant to listen to and soothe the heart.
I haven't gotten a chance to experience much in the way of food, personally. I do love home-cooked meals and fresh breads, things that are flavourful and comforting.
Well... I think my ideal partner would be someone strong-willed, confident, and warm-hearted. Someone kind and understanding, who can accept me as I am.
Mm... and it wouldn't hurt if he was someone playful and a bit rough. I like it when I'm taken by surprise, in all senses of the word, by someone I trust. Of course... it's also best if they can handle a little playfulness in return.

To tell the truth, I was thinking I'd probably just wash my own by hand. It seems complicated enough as it is.
[sure, maybe he'll ask Eiden, but until then... until then, there's this. two clueless men trying to work a couple of washing machines. Olivine hands over a number of clothes, splitting the load effectively in half, which... should hopefully be enough to get both machines working.]
I actually rather enjoy doing laundry... but there's nothing wrong with it otherwise. [smiling fondly, Olivine turns his attention to... the buttons. why are there so many labels on these things???] Hm... to dry them... definitely nothing with rinse in it... and you don't need to wash them again, so... I guess "spin" is the best option?
[look at him, logicing his way through the problem! closing the door, Olivine selects that setting and finds the start button in turn, rubbing the back of his head as he stands back up.]
If it still doesn't work, I can wring them out for you.

With enough mastery of this machine, I imagine it would be quite convenient to relegate the duties of laundry to... a metal box.
[Aha. It's just weird enough to be a lot to wrap his head around, but even sodden, these clothes do seem clean...
He watches Olivine pick buttons with a furrowed brow; at least he's paying attention and not just having him do everything, if only because it would be super embarrassing to keep having to ask for help with button-pressing in the future. Spin, spin...]
I have never... done laundry before this very moment. My household's staff takes care of these things...
[A gesture, like, As Everyone Understands. But lo, he can... press start!! Yeah!!!! Oh it's going to take a chunk of time, huh. He doesn't expect Olivine to stand around for twenty minutes with him, but:]

Yes, it would save a lot of time at the church if we had something like this. Some might struggle with the learning curve, though.
[Lorenz mentions how laundry woes (and the lack of staff), and Olivine's eyes widen a little in understanding, demeanor still just as warm when he stands.]
Ah! Are you a noble then, where you come from?
[His head shakes lightly at the thanks, almost soothing.]
You're welcome. We'll still have to figure out drying them, but hopefully this works to start. Besides, it helps me for the future too.

The machines are just chugging away now, so if he's staying for waiting time... Manners.] You are right to assume; I was at home busily preparing to assume my father's titles and responsibilities, but fate had other plans, obviously.
[That's something he's visibly pretty put out about, but he's not about to dump his problems on a near stranger, so he keeps it contained to the strained sort of face he makes. Instead—]

Oh—of course! I'm a priest of the Water Territory's water temple. We share the word of the God of Klein there, as well as welcoming pilgrims and journeymen, organizing events, and protecting the water crystal He sent down to us.
[some people find this to be inadequate as an explanation, but it's a good starting point at least.]

It may not account for much, but if you ever find you need someone to talk to, I'm happy to listen. I understand that feeling, of wondering what must be going on when you had so many things you needed to do. And—if you'd prefer, Lorenz.
[he's got it bang-on, at least, for the question of the crystals. Olivine nods in response to that, humming softly.]
I suppose you could put it that way. According to what we understand, God created His sons in order to bring life to the world. Where they came to dwell, and where they left the land, they left behind a crystal, whose influence created the territories as we know them. Each territory looks after its own crystal, one way or another.

I see; and you serve one such territory. I have never been particularly devout myself, but I have often felt soothed by the ambiance of the Church. It must be fulfilling work for you.

Oh—basically, yes. I serve the Water Temple and help to regulate the Water Crystal as a clan member of the Great Sorcerer, specifically, but further as a priest that means I serve the people of the territory, yes. The Water City [boy these are real creative names, NU:C] has the most individual temples and sees the largest number of pilgrims in the country, though there are certainly others across the territories. I also sometimes teach at our academy, when I have a little extra time. It is quite fulfilling.
[how does this one man do so many things and this isn't even an exhaustive list? we just don't know. he does sort of catch himself rambling, and ducks his head sheepishly.]
Ahem... but I'm pleased to hear the Church is a source of soothing for you, as well. I'm sure ours are a little different, but even so.

[it feels wrong somehow, how deeply it settles him just to talk with people. after all, it's barely been any time since he got his suit and rank... these are things he'll keep to himself though, smiling instead at Lorenz's explanation.]
The music is certainly worth visiting for, I think. I'm sure I'm biased though, having largely grown up there.
... If you're certain. Admittedly, though, I was more of a substitute... I taught a few lectures on magical and essence theory, especially relating to the findings of our scholars. [a laugh.] It's largely just the same things I learned when I attended the school, of course.

The aptitude to teach is an admirable one. And magic is highly advanced where I come from— while anyone can learn sorcery, only a select few can become truly skilled. If your magic is similar, I am even more impressed.

Please don't misunderstand. I'm aware of the difficulty of what I did, as you're correct—magic is a broad and winding thing, one that takes years to master. I have the essence to spare that I had a... slightly easier time, but there are many things I never learned, and I never may. I'm simply still bewildered that my professor thought so highly of me as to ask.
[he glances to the machines as they work away, surprisingly quiet for all they're doing.]
I do enjoy it, though. It's rewarding, like helping children to read or providing assistance to those in need.

Lorenz nods; that much he understands, about magic. He himself is hardly the most talented person he knows when it comes to magic, and that is simply down to an innate connection with the craft. At least, that's how he's always understood it.
He raises an eyebrow, though, at "still bewildered," but he holds up a hand in the same moment as if to say, alright, he isn't going to give another speech. ...About that.
Like, come on, now he's reading with children and helping the needy?]
You know, we have only just met, but already your dedication to improving the lives of those around you dazzles me. Do not object! [hand still held up!! endure!!] Even now, stepping in so graciously to aid me in my time of need... Would that more people could put as much care into the world.

Haha, thank you. I'm glad you think so. [he doesn't say that there's some selfishness in his selflessness, some deeply ingrained need for comfort in the comfort of others. no need for either of them to get into more lectures.] It can be difficult for some, I imagine, but... that's what makes it feel special to me. Whether it's the face of someone reading on their own for the very first time, or someone who's just been struggling with decisions or labour, or receiving a gift they thought they'd never have... it's always so special.

In my work, one's best bet is to reach as many people as possible, and to institute reform that withstands the test of time. I have many designs for such a feat, such that the people of Gloucester territory will prosper for generations. Stymied, unfortunately, by being here.
[Again, woe. The machine beeps at him then, startling him out of his thoughtfulness.]

[and turning, he goes to check on the lid, tugging briefly to make sure it isn't locked before pulling it open. moment of truth... to see how much purple has bled on everything. but more importantly, hopefully it's not all soaked to death this time.]

We can see if they have any chemicals to whiten it again, though... honestly I think it's rather nice. And—if you'd like, I can teach you how to sort clothes so this doesn't happen again. It isn't too troublesome I think, especially if these machines work properly.
