Hello, my name is Olivine. I'm a priest of the God of Klein, and I enjoy helping others in my free time. I'm also a healer, so if you ever find yourself in need, please don't hesitate to seek me out for assistance or conversation or both.
I like to think myself quite easy to get along with, and I'm happy to make friends and acquaintances. I've been told I can be a little too optimistic sometimes, but I can't really help it. Ah, and I've been working on myself of late to become more self-confident, with the help of others around me.
For the moment, I'm just looking to make connections. If I can, I'd also like to find something to do with myself—I have experience with several creative endeavours.
I may not be able to offer much now, but I hope to become more helpful in the future. Please bear with me in the interim.
As I mentioned before, I'm a healer and a priest. I also know a fair bit of magic, at least how it works in my own world. On top of that, I enjoy painting and writing.
I have a penchant for trying new things, even when they may seem strange. I'm quite... resilient, when it comes to that.
Oh, I don't know. I like a lot of fantasy books, especially ones with intrigue and romance in them, as well as tomes and history books. I also quite enjoy church music, though... I suppose I just like music in general. Things that are pleasant to listen to and soothe the heart.
I haven't gotten a chance to experience much in the way of food, personally. I do love home-cooked meals and fresh breads, things that are flavourful and comforting.
Well... I think my ideal partner would be someone strong-willed, confident, and warm-hearted. Someone kind and understanding, who can accept me as I am.
Mm... and it wouldn't hurt if he was someone playful and a bit rough. I like it when I'm taken by surprise, in all senses of the word, by someone I trust. Of course... it's also best if they can handle a little playfulness in return.

[it's a thankfully uneventful night and morning, for that matter—not that Olivine expects anything less. he does his best not to overlap obligations, and with his life being the way it is? it's not usually that hard to extricate himself from others.
that's not often an issue anyway, what with being a lowly three card... there's certainly no one hovering around where Olivine has come to rest, just a few minutes early. he's dressed in a dark blue half-shirt with a cute lace underpinning, more cream than white, that's sheer enough to catch sight of the gemstone and diamond tattoo that adorn his torso. the pants are much simpler, just neatly embroidered and providing a nice line up through the rest of the outfit and accenting his form casually. bright green eyes trail over the surrounding area as two o'clock approaches, a warm expression on his face. he's taken a moment to acquaint himself with Midnight's profile, at least, so he should know him when he sees him.]

He walks right over, a book already in hand, and beams, already looking for a place for both of them to sit. ]
You're a vision, darling. It's nice to properly meet you... I'm not sure what the proper manner of address is for the clergy. Is "Father" what's used?

Midnight, too, is not hard to spot. if he's honest, the priest wasn't sure what to expect based on the information written in his profile, but eventually decided to just take it a step at a time. after all, he knows now that they aren't always written by the person they're posted for.]
You look wonderful, yourself. In the church, I would be known as Father Olivine, yes—although some would also call me "Your Holiness" in my full capacity—but please, feel free to just call me Olivine.
[he's actually pretty sure it would feel awkward to have too many people calling him Your Holiness here, and so far, only Rinne calls him Father... while not calling him Olivine at all. it's fine.]

While the request to call the good priest by his name only, Midnight tilts his head in thought, looking back at him as they start to ascend the stairs. He nods, still deep in rumination, but it's with a certain decisive finality to it. ]
Olivine, then. Forgive me if I forget myself and call you Father or even Your Holiness every now and then... I'm in the habit of using titles before names, so it might take a long while to let the idea settle in.
[ A first name is very personal for Midnight! Although he doesn't object to the idea of someone dropping titles for him, he likes the formality of a title. They make conversations more orderly, leaves less to chance. That he uses "darling" and "love" more often than given names is no afterthought. ]
Shall we find a place to sit? I've been here enough times to have a few favorite spots, but I'd love to know if there are any you prefer.

Mm, there's nothing to forgive. [his head shakes, a soft laugh escaping his lips.] I'm quite used to hearing both, I just don't intend to make people here refer to me so formally. Well... not that I did back home, either, but there my station did matter a bit more than here. To that end, is it alright if I simply call you Midnight, or is there a name you prefer?

I don't have much in the way of preference, though I do tend to end up in largely open areas. I tend to like being available for whoever arrives.

If anything, by the way he finds an alcove behind a bookcase, and looks at its cozy arrangement of sofas and tables next to a wide window overlooking the Vale, it seems like he's quite happy to look toward whatever's next, to leave the past to the past. ]

Is there anything you'd like to tell me about the writing process before we start? I have my own tastes in writing, of course, but I don't know what you consider useful or helpful with regard to sorting through new ideas.

[he glances over when Midnight sits nearby, offering another little smile. it's nice, having someone to talk to about stories. even if it's just simple conversation that means nothing in the end... which he doubts will happen, to be honest.]
Mm, not at all. I find that just listening is often enough to spark an idea; understanding what mechanics are of interest in a story is a big part of writing them. Some of the books I wrote for the children also included morals within the stories, of course, but all fiction has its merits.
So please, do feel free to be candid with me, Midnight.

Thank you. Well... Let's start with where you were willing to start with me, mm? With fairytales, stories with morals for children. Although I've an interest in fairytales specifically, I haven't been able to find any in this library just yet. Instead, I made a list of titles then I liked, and then rather than write the whole synopsis for each, simply wrote down what parts of them struck me first as I recalled the story... For some, it was the characters; for others, it was certainly the way the plot went, how the world responded to the choices the characters made...
[ And he'll honestly talk about these things for hours. For someone who never had a proper higher level education, he's very articulate and has strong opinions about literature; for someone very opinionated, he has a tendency to explain his views fully and take other viewpoints under consideration very deeply. He's had a lot of conversations about books and it shows, even if none of them strictly took place in an academic environment. ]
... But I think I like it best when a character makes a surprising decision that, when you look back at their actions and thoughts over the course of the book, aren't so surprising after all. It's the sort of thing that makes me feel as though you're getting to know a character, both the good parts and the bad.

[hearing him talk about it brings a smile to Olivine's face. they're similar in that—taking bits and pieces from story to story and weaving them together has always been a good source of inspiration. moreover, well... the priest is used to listening to the whims of children. it makes Midnight's articulate approach all the simpler to digest.]
Mm. There's nothing better than seeing the growth of a character, too. Flaws and features are often harder to see apart than not, until something illuminates them one way or the other. I like stories like that, too. Especially where things seem dire and unchangeable, but something helps them to find another way through their struggles.

Midnight leans back a bit. It turns out that the book that he brought with him was a nicely bound, but otherwise plain notebook he'd bought from some specialty store; his notes are in there, and he's been adding more as they've talked. It sits open on his thigh, and he looks at what they've added so far. ]
It sounds like we're talking about a protagonist, or at least a character with a lot of influence on the story... What do you think? Sometimes, I feel like the most interesting characters are the ones on the side, living their own lives as the main character progresses through the story. In that sense, sometimes the most interesting stories are the ones with no main characters at all.

[their notes are no doubt different—though it's probably a bit hard to tell, since Olivine's native script is very... not recognisable to anyone who uses normal human-esque scripts.

Mm, it does seem like it could be a protagonist, yes... but I think it's possible to view a side-character the same way, as well. Overall, there isn't much difference between the two, other than the story's focus. So perhaps a story where there isn't focus on any specific character, and instead on the world they live in, with moments of focus?

[ Midnight claps his hands together, then stretches, peering at his wrist for the time. ]
We'll have to come up with a proper bunch of characters, then... The sort of people whose stories fit together, challenge one another. But are you thirsty? It really is unusual of me to neglect bringing a drink of some sort... I suppose the prospect of this venture caught my faculties rather well.
[ He has a solution for this, actually — he's been here enough times to know which side rooms in this place have water stations — but he shakes his head regardless. He didn't even bring a drop of champagne... He's usually quite good about remembering to bring gifts to a first meeting, even if they aren't necessarily material. ]

[a pause then, his smile a little sheepish. he hadn't even considered it, truthfully, before that moment.]
... it seems all the fuss took my mind off of it, but I am a little thirsty. Normally I'm much more aware of it myself. Shall we break to find something to drink?

[ Midnight gets up, pulls the wrinkles out of his clothing, and extends a hand to Olivine to help him up, a smile on his face. ]
There's a rest area nearby with water, but if you like, we can also take a walk to Early Bird Hall for heavier libations. I don't know about you, but I could use the walk.
[ They were talking for quite some time, after all. Midnight, for all that he likes curling up with a book, isn't the type to stay still for long. ]

[in contrast, the priest can absolutely stay still for ages when he's learning or writing, but he does like being active in turn. the more they can do, the better. closing his notebook, Olivine stows the pen against its cover and moves to join the taller man, offering a warm smile as he does.]

You write for children generally, don't you? I'd imagine their demands aren't nearly as complex as what we've been discussing so far. We may need more than a few meetings to solidify these ideas into writing. I can't say I'm not looking forward to the prospect, though.
[ A grin. This is fun, and it feels lovely and daring to occupy their time with something that isn't the main directive. ]

[giving a soft giggle as they walk, Olivine stretches his arms in turn, head tilting to look up at the taller man.]
I don't think there's a reason to limit ourselves to the library, either—in fact, it might be easier to do the work somewhere we don't need to worry about our volume so much.

[ Midnight nods. Children don't tend to think in terms of what's realistic or easy, after all. He rather admires them for that. ]
You've a point... Hm. That leaves some sort of cafe or one of our rooms, I think. Are you hungry as well? I've some champagne in my room, but no food to speak of, unfortunately.
[ Midnight's appetite is... complicated, but he doesn't mind sitting around while another person eats. He's always enjoyed being surrounded by people, even if it's just to take in the atmosphere. ]
