Hello, my name is Olivine. I'm a priest of the God of Klein, and I enjoy helping others in my free time. I'm also a healer, so if you ever find yourself in need, please don't hesitate to seek me out for assistance or conversation or both.
I like to think myself quite easy to get along with, and I'm happy to make friends and acquaintances. I've been told I can be a little too optimistic sometimes, but I can't really help it. Ah, and I've been working on myself of late to become more self-confident, with the help of others around me.
For the moment, I'm just looking to make connections. If I can, I'd also like to find something to do with myself—I have experience with several creative endeavours.
I may not be able to offer much now, but I hope to become more helpful in the future. Please bear with me in the interim.
As I mentioned before, I'm a healer and a priest. I also know a fair bit of magic, at least how it works in my own world. On top of that, I enjoy painting and writing.
I have a penchant for trying new things, even when they may seem strange. I'm quite... resilient, when it comes to that.
Oh, I don't know. I like a lot of fantasy books, especially ones with intrigue and romance in them, as well as tomes and history books. I also quite enjoy church music, though... I suppose I just like music in general. Things that are pleasant to listen to and soothe the heart.
I haven't gotten a chance to experience much in the way of food, personally. I do love home-cooked meals and fresh breads, things that are flavourful and comforting.
Well... I think my ideal partner would be someone strong-willed, confident, and warm-hearted. Someone kind and understanding, who can accept me as I am.
Mm... and it wouldn't hurt if he was someone playful and a bit rough. I like it when I'm taken by surprise, in all senses of the word, by someone I trust. Of course... it's also best if they can handle a little playfulness in return.

[ The words are soft, with no bite or tease or malice behind them. He says it like it's honest fact, like he's the one being blinded right now. Maybe he is, sitting beside someone so very unlike himself in so many ways, with so much love in his heart that it's Kleken who finds himself overwhelmed in his company for once. And yet he stays, letting his tentacles tangle around the man. ]
But it's a pleasant sort of blindness, I suppose.
no subject
[His tone says he understands though, nestling into the tangle of tentacles and the warm affection they offer. Even now, there's a soft undercurrent of interest, a desire for deeper connection he always seems to maintain.
All he does is gently stroke the tentacles though, fondly and without instigation. For now, anyway.]
I'm glad it would be pleasant, though. The last thing I would want is to cause harm to someone I love.

[ Who wouldn't be healed by Olivine's soft soul, really. Kleken knew he was an outlier in this consideration, but he did know a warm soul when he saw one and more importantly, knew the sort of effect they could have on the people around them. He'd once thought over the financial capabilities of such power, but a disapproving stare from a certain shadowlord had quickly put an end to that idea. ]
[ The tentacle- Kleken, really- are more than open to being pet. To any sort of touch they can get, that they haven't stolen for themselves. And while they don't have the soft fur of a fuzzy animal, they lounge just as peacefully across Olivine, as does the man at his side who steals one of Olivine's hands to tangle their fingers together. Thoughtfully and distracting, as if simply wanting to feel the slide of their palms together the way the priest's hand slide against his tentacles. ]
An interesting concern... You hardly seem like someone who might do so even accidentally.
no subject
At the comment about how he seems, the priest's fingers squeeze back, warm palm sharing its soothing heat with Kleken's. The other remains calm in its gentle strokes, and his smile is... a little wry.]
You might be surprised how easy it is to hurt someone accidentally... [because he does it intentionally instead—] I have had... instances where I did nearly harm others, though. Essence is a dangerous thing; if we lose control of it, there are times when we lose control even of our own bodies.
no subject
Is it something you must be actively holding control of at all times? This... essence of yours.
[ It sounds rather exhausting. ]
no subject
Oh, no—it's... well, it's so complicated, but it's not so active. [humming, Olivine lets his eyes close, considering how much he wants to explain.] Do you have anything where you're from that's like... some kind of lifeblood? It's a bit like that. Anything living has essence, as well as elements like wind or fire, for example. We use it for magic and technology.
[Ah... he's getting sidetracked. Coughing lightly, he shakes his head.]
But because essence is such an integral part of us, if we have too much or too little of any given element, it can cause problems—people seem to lose their minds, or sometimes transform altogether. Proper rest and food is important... which is something I had neglected, at the time.

[ What he is more obviously doing is continuing to lightly play with Olivine's hand, a gentle and quiet effort to soothe the other man with his presence and touch. An altogether subconscious one, admittedly, because he has no idea how to purposefully offer a person some comfort other than leaving the room. But this seems to be working for the priest, as far as he can tell. ]
You must have been quite busy or distracted, to neglect such things. I wouldn't take you the type to do it normally.
no subject
But especially now, he is more than soothed by the man's idle comforts, subconscious though they may be. The fact that a conman with no real experience in giving earnest comfort still brings him more than his own parents... but that's a story for later, maybe.]
Busy, yes. I was... mm. I've explained my duties to regulate the water crystal at its altar in the church, I think? At the time, doing so was doubly critical. [It was so obvious in hindsight...] We're still not sure what caused it to become so unbalanced, but I didn't want anything to get worse, so I continually regulated it by myself. From there, I just lost track of time.
no subject
How unfortunate. Have you learned a lesson from the time then?
[ To either not do it anymore or do it smarter, Kleken would hardly judge. ]
no subject
[He would say it's a good distraction, this conversation, except of course it will involved Eiden, and of course he still feels guilt over everything that happened in spite of everyone's reassurances. For a moment Olivine is quiet, gaze drifting to watch his own fingers as they gently trace a sucker, still petting the tentacle softly.]
To my surprise, there were even more complications that came from having a contract gemstone. In my stubbornness, I not only almost injured others, but I almost killed myself, too. A normal person's body can't handle the amount of power we're gifted, when used for an extended period.
no subject
[ The sucker shifts under his finger, never away, but a relaxed and almost playful push back. Trying to curl around his finger as best they can, while Kleken carefully picks his words. He can't console, he's never had the kind of words for that, but there is one thought he's quite certain of that he can convey. ]
... I must say I'm rather selfishly pleased you did not pass away.
no subject
As to the response, well, it's enough to make him laugh softly, other hand squeezing Kleken's thigh where it still rests.]
I don't think you can consider that selfish, Kleken. I am, too, as I'm sure anyone who cares for someone would be. It was—I'm no stranger to pain, but that feeling... it's hard to describe just how it felt, other than terrifying. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
[and that's a lot, coming from such a hardcore masochist.]
no subject
[ A murmur he honestly means. Kleken would consider that particular form of torture if he had a better concept of the extent of the pain and how to manipulate it, but he's never claimed to be a good person. Not truthfully anyway. In any case, the leash Istvan held over him is more than enough to deter any such implementations in the end. ]
I do hope there are no plans to engage in any similar difficulties here.
[ Don't go getting yourself in trouble while Kleken is around to have a Feeling about it, please. ]
no subject
No, not at all. It wasn't something I had intended, but I also promised the others that I would be more mindful of my limits in future.
[so, unless the resort does something, he's probably fine.]
no subject
[ He can tell the truth with that comment, carefully though. So it doesn't reveal just how much of a relief it really was to know that this delicately undelicate man wasn't about to go running out to seek danger. His tentacles swirling small circles against Olivine's skin might give away a bit more of his unrecognized anxiety at the thought though. ]
You are quite the precious person, after all.
[ To other people, definitely not to Kleken- ]
no subject
[He's not going to call Kleken on his unusual candidness, nor on his seemingly anxious movements. Content and accompanied, it's easy for Olivine to simply lapse into a comfortable quiet. It seems he truly did speak earnestly in that comfort can help him out of most any depths.]
no subject
[ Kleken's own heavily included. His scramble to reach the Shadowlord's side was exactly that, and even now he was striving for a better ranking within the resort so he could live at a comfort level he felt more appropriate for himself. For the outward appearance he wished to project. ]
[ But just because he didn't regard himself with the same kindness didn't mean he couldn't see the soft emotion it brought around to Olivine. Couldn't envy it in a way, deep inside. ]
But even more so whom might wish to be regarded so preciously.
no subject
Mm. I like that people see me as fit for my position, and that they trust me in it. I cherish that I've become their Holy Father, but it's...
[The way he hesitates indicates a number of things. That whatever "it" is is something deeply wounding, that he holds uncomfortable feelings over it. That he's not sure if he wants to share it aloud.
It's something more than just being seen by a populous as your job title. So he settles for the inimitably concerning, frustratingly vague explanation of:]
I'm happy just to be seen as a normal person, too.
no subject
[ Except when he did and promptly dipped out from being overwhelmed. ]
[ This vague explanation though? This he could comfortably latch onto, slip from pressing too deep and offer a light compliment of sorts instead. A Kleken sort of compliment. ]
You are sometimes extraordinarily ordinary.
[ Olivine was also just not in numerous other ways. ]
no subject
I'm just a person, after all. [He agrees.] Thank you again, Kleken. For just being here with me. My space is better with you in it.
[when was the last time someone said that so very earnestly to a blatant conman like Kleken?]
no subject
[ Not at all on purpose, of course. ]
[ Which is why Olivine's last statement draws a genuine look of surprise out of Kleken for a moment, his glance over quick before his emotions are hidden away once more. ]
[ Never, the answer is never. Not in any sort of honest manner, anyway. ]
Do feel free to call upon me anytime you need a companion.
no subject
Hehe. I will do my best—and I hope you do the same.
no subject
I would happily do so.
[ How odd it feels, to know a part of him means it. ]
