Hello, my name is Olivine. I'm a priest of the God of Klein, and I enjoy helping others in my free time. I'm also a healer, so if you ever find yourself in need, please don't hesitate to seek me out for assistance or conversation or both.
I like to think myself quite easy to get along with, and I'm happy to make friends and acquaintances. I've been told I can be a little too optimistic sometimes, but I can't really help it. Ah, and I've been working on myself of late to become more self-confident, with the help of others around me.
For the moment, I'm just looking to make connections. If I can, I'd also like to find something to do with myself—I have experience with several creative endeavours.
I may not be able to offer much now, but I hope to become more helpful in the future. Please bear with me in the interim.
As I mentioned before, I'm a healer and a priest. I also know a fair bit of magic, at least how it works in my own world. On top of that, I enjoy painting and writing.
I have a penchant for trying new things, even when they may seem strange. I'm quite... resilient, when it comes to that.
Oh, I don't know. I like a lot of fantasy books, especially ones with intrigue and romance in them, as well as tomes and history books. I also quite enjoy church music, though... I suppose I just like music in general. Things that are pleasant to listen to and soothe the heart.
I haven't gotten a chance to experience much in the way of food, personally. I do love home-cooked meals and fresh breads, things that are flavourful and comforting.
Well... I think my ideal partner would be someone strong-willed, confident, and warm-hearted. Someone kind and understanding, who can accept me as I am.
Mm... and it wouldn't hurt if he was someone playful and a bit rough. I like it when I'm taken by surprise, in all senses of the word, by someone I trust. Of course... it's also best if they can handle a little playfulness in return.

[Kleken's surprise is enough to make him smile a little, mostly just amused that he's not caught on to how simple Olivine actually is. Or maybe just because he's relieved to be able to just put himself in someone's arms again. Both?]
Your company alone would be plenty, Kleken.
[It's a moment of particularly blunt honesty; he's fully aware of the conman's habit of hyperbole, but in the state he's in now... well, he's lucky Olivine isn't even more blunt. Instead, he shifts to slide his feet to the other side, working around any lingering tentacles to nestle himself among them as much as leaning (lightly, he knows how Thick he is) on Kleken.]
Thank you. This feels much better.
no subject
[ Though Kleken may be a notably lankier and almost delicate man, his tentacles more than make up for that. Those that aren't occupied with exploring the room are moving up onto the couch, helping to support Olivine's weight against Kleken and giving him something comfortably squishy and living to surround himself with. ]
[ For once, there's no suggestive intent behind their movements. No sneaking into clothing, or alluring touches, or coaxing strokes. Instead, there's a protective air to the way they lay themselves over and around the priest, and it's actually the conman's hand that raises after some hesitation to rest over Olivine's head. It's both awkward and comfortable, which reflects how Kleken himself is feeling in this situation where he wants to comfort a man and has only the most superficial concepts of how. ]
I'm pleased to be of assistance.
no subject
If it becomes uncomfortable, please let me know. [He's a little relieved, too, that Kleken seems to earnestly want to give him this comfort. It would be hard not to guess he's unused to it, given his penchant for lies.] I'm relieved to not be alone again. I guess I'm not as used to it anymore.
[and so he rambles, without any real expectation for reciprocation—Kleken will no doubt have little trouble reading his movements. Of course, they haven't really talked about any reason he would be "used to" being alone—it's fine, surely.]
no subject
[ Though cuddling after sex was something Kleken was well-familiar with, actively enjoyed and indulged in whenever given the chance, cuddling without the layer of sexual intention around it was... interesting. Intriguing, even. He couldn't tell if he liked it or not. He enjoyed the physical closeness it brought, the warmth of another body against his own pleasant, but the element of emotional vulnerability tied to it sat uneasily in his gut. ]
[ Sharing this with Olivine made the process easier- less dangerous feeling to him. Whether it was out of some level of trust for the man or that he felt he wasn't a danger to him was unclear, but the priest was. Acceptable. ]
You could call me if you're in need of company. Or perhaps my child could keep you company when I can not.
no subject
Kleken's comment makes him lift his head though, blinking up at the man.]
Your child...? I would be happy to call on you for company, but I wasn't aware you had something of a child here.
[he isn't silly enough to think it's an actual human(oid) child, but still. the only one he has so far is a bird—]
no subject
[ The switch of topics is a comfortable one, allowing him to focus on age-old habits of making something objectively terrible into something questionably enticing. A con, if you will. ]
And rather in need of... a gentle and guiding hand.
[ Splat was currently at risk of turning out like his father-figure and even Kleken didn't want more of that energy in the world. ]
no subject
[true to his nature, there's only a brief wry smile to that statement, thumb brushing over Kleken's side.]
If you need some help with him, I'm happy to do what I can. I've raised quite a few creatures, and I do handle a few children back in the church.
[please, no one needs a kleken jr version of Splat.]
no subject
[ Kleken has had the dubious honor of meeting his other child as of late, kept in the care of the far more responsible Baizhu. He rather thinks that one takes more after its mother than its father. ]
[ The light touch it met with Kleken's fingers, brushing coolly against Olivine's warm hand in something resembling comforting. As close to it as Kleken can get in a way that wasn't outright seducing the man. ]
I'd be most appreciative in that case.
[ Free babysitter, yes- ]
no subject
[which "it," he's not entirely sure—but it doesn't matter much. Far more interesting to worry about is the prospect of another creature to help keep him busy, to gently slip away from his grief a little...]
Mm, what do you know about him so far? It'll help me to take the best care of him I can, if you don't mind.
[truth is important here, even for Kleken.]
no subject
[ There's a moment's pause as he considers everything he knows about Eel and his admittedly limited relationship to her. ]
... My child born from an egg. Splat did not come from one.
[ The names keep getting worse and worse, honestly, and yet Kleken had no hand in either naming process other than approving of one of them. Though he did delight in both of them all the same. They had a certainly level of charm to their names that he was almost proud of. ]
Ah... he's about this large-
[ There's a motion with his tentacles to indicate a creature about the size of a medium dog. ]
- and has stolen my spare glasses and hat. He rather enjoys wearing them despite having no head nor eyes.
[ Surely these are useful details to a caregiver. ]
no subject
[He's content to leave it at that, really—assuming it's the same as his own situation would suggest Eel is a bird, so he's just... going to take it at what Kleken says for now. At least this is something he's probably not lying about.
As he describes Splat though, he does get a characteristic giggle out of Olivine at his description, warm and light. At least he's feeling well enough for that. And there's a similar fondness in hearing about it that shines through to Olivine's very brotherly nature.]
I'll have to make sure to give him something else to wear, then. Perhaps the sensation is pleasant to him. Does he need anything specific for feeding, or...?
[or is "he" better food, for that matter—]
no subject
[ It's the truth in an obscured way, no further explanation given as if it were enough to suffice. Granted, there are only two ways to take the statement, and Olivine's clever enough to catch on to that. Clever enough to realize that a creature born from the resort likely has only one sort of hungry in mind most of the time. ]
I believe you'll get along quite well.
[ The bigger problem will inevitably be whether, or when, Kleken becomes jealous of just how well they end up getting along. ]
no subject
I'm not sure if I should be offended by that implication, Kleken...
[He's clearly not though. In fact, he can't help but laugh softly, continuing his absent touches over tentacle and man alike.]
But yes, I'm happy to help you where I can, especially with a child like Splat. Feel free to make the request anytime.
no subject
[ Though he says the words breezily, there's a softness to his tone and a subtle lean of his body into Olivine's, a quiet basking of the attention that his absent touches provide to keep from focusing on his own sincerity. And worse, his own jealousy. ]
Your kindness is, as always, so tempting to one's ears.
[ His tentacles tangle themselves a little more with Olivine, curling over ankles and playfully flicking back against his fingers. ]
If I were to fall any further to them, I may just drown myself.
no subject
[His smile softens as Kleken leans in, as tentacles play gently against his fingers and limbs. Said fingers respond in kind, providing a solid backdrop for the conman to focus on without even noticing he's offering it.]
I always want to be a comfort to those I care for... maybe it's silly, but it keeps me grounded.
no subject
Perhaps there are times when being silly is acceptable.
[ His eyes fall to the sight of his own tentacles moving about, an easier target to focus on than the soft emotions Olivine shows him. Far too warming than is good for his health. ]
And times when both parties might find comfort in each other's company.
no subject
[He only knows how to live one way, even now. Fully and heavily, basking in the comfort and affection he's shown and shows in kind. Tentacles settle over him in seemingly gentle possessiveness, and it seems to help him relax significantly.]
That's how I would want it to be. To share in comfort and connection, and know that it helped us both. Even more than the sex, though I enjoy that immensely as well. I suppose sometimes, that's the better option too—it at least helps to fully distract me from the difficult things.
no subject
[ The words are soft, with no bite or tease or malice behind them. He says it like it's honest fact, like he's the one being blinded right now. Maybe he is, sitting beside someone so very unlike himself in so many ways, with so much love in his heart that it's Kleken who finds himself overwhelmed in his company for once. And yet he stays, letting his tentacles tangle around the man. ]
But it's a pleasant sort of blindness, I suppose.
no subject
[His tone says he understands though, nestling into the tangle of tentacles and the warm affection they offer. Even now, there's a soft undercurrent of interest, a desire for deeper connection he always seems to maintain.
All he does is gently stroke the tentacles though, fondly and without instigation. For now, anyway.]
I'm glad it would be pleasant, though. The last thing I would want is to cause harm to someone I love.
no subject
[ Who wouldn't be healed by Olivine's soft soul, really. Kleken knew he was an outlier in this consideration, but he did know a warm soul when he saw one and more importantly, knew the sort of effect they could have on the people around them. He'd once thought over the financial capabilities of such power, but a disapproving stare from a certain shadowlord had quickly put an end to that idea. ]
[ The tentacle- Kleken, really- are more than open to being pet. To any sort of touch they can get, that they haven't stolen for themselves. And while they don't have the soft fur of a fuzzy animal, they lounge just as peacefully across Olivine, as does the man at his side who steals one of Olivine's hands to tangle their fingers together. Thoughtfully and distracting, as if simply wanting to feel the slide of their palms together the way the priest's hand slide against his tentacles. ]
An interesting concern... You hardly seem like someone who might do so even accidentally.
no subject
At the comment about how he seems, the priest's fingers squeeze back, warm palm sharing its soothing heat with Kleken's. The other remains calm in its gentle strokes, and his smile is... a little wry.]
You might be surprised how easy it is to hurt someone accidentally... [because he does it intentionally instead—] I have had... instances where I did nearly harm others, though. Essence is a dangerous thing; if we lose control of it, there are times when we lose control even of our own bodies.
no subject
Is it something you must be actively holding control of at all times? This... essence of yours.
[ It sounds rather exhausting. ]
no subject
Oh, no—it's... well, it's so complicated, but it's not so active. [humming, Olivine lets his eyes close, considering how much he wants to explain.] Do you have anything where you're from that's like... some kind of lifeblood? It's a bit like that. Anything living has essence, as well as elements like wind or fire, for example. We use it for magic and technology.
[Ah... he's getting sidetracked. Coughing lightly, he shakes his head.]
But because essence is such an integral part of us, if we have too much or too little of any given element, it can cause problems—people seem to lose their minds, or sometimes transform altogether. Proper rest and food is important... which is something I had neglected, at the time.
no subject
[ What he is more obviously doing is continuing to lightly play with Olivine's hand, a gentle and quiet effort to soothe the other man with his presence and touch. An altogether subconscious one, admittedly, because he has no idea how to purposefully offer a person some comfort other than leaving the room. But this seems to be working for the priest, as far as he can tell. ]
You must have been quite busy or distracted, to neglect such things. I wouldn't take you the type to do it normally.
no subject
But especially now, he is more than soothed by the man's idle comforts, subconscious though they may be. The fact that a conman with no real experience in giving earnest comfort still brings him more than his own parents... but that's a story for later, maybe.]
Busy, yes. I was... mm. I've explained my duties to regulate the water crystal at its altar in the church, I think? At the time, doing so was doubly critical. [It was so obvious in hindsight...] We're still not sure what caused it to become so unbalanced, but I didn't want anything to get worse, so I continually regulated it by myself. From there, I just lost track of time.
