My Self-Summary

Hello, my name is Olivine. I'm a priest of the God of Klein, and I enjoy helping others in my free time. I'm also a healer, so if you ever find yourself in need, please don't hesitate to seek me out for assistance or conversation or both.

I like to think myself quite easy to get along with, and I'm happy to make friends and acquaintances. I've been told I can be a little too optimistic sometimes, but I can't really help it. Ah, and I've been working on myself of late to become more self-confident, with the help of others around me.

My Future Plans

For the moment, I'm just looking to make connections. If I can, I'd also like to find something to do with myself—I have experience with several creative endeavours.

I may not be able to offer much now, but I hope to become more helpful in the future. Please bear with me in the interim.

My Talents

As I mentioned before, I'm a healer and a priest. I also know a fair bit of magic, at least how it works in my own world. On top of that, I enjoy painting and writing.

I have a penchant for trying new things, even when they may seem strange. I'm quite... resilient, when it comes to that.

Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and Food

Oh, I don't know. I like a lot of fantasy books, especially ones with intrigue and romance in them, as well as tomes and history books. I also quite enjoy church music, though... I suppose I just like music in general. Things that are pleasant to listen to and soothe the heart.

I haven't gotten a chance to experience much in the way of food, personally. I do love home-cooked meals and fresh breads, things that are flavourful and comforting.

My Ideal Partner

Well... I think my ideal partner would be someone strong-willed, confident, and warm-hearted. Someone kind and understanding, who can accept me as I am.

Mm... and it wouldn't hurt if he was someone playful and a bit rough. I like it when I'm taken by surprise, in all senses of the word, by someone I trust. Of course... it's also best if they can handle a little playfulness in return.

To tell the truth... I'm not even sure when they took those photos of me. It's a little... discomforting.

Not impeding, no. It's... well, grief, I suppose. I just needed a little time, and it seems that came at a bad time for the resort.

I would welcome company anytime.

[ Grief?? Give Kleken a little to comprehend this. ]

Surely. Would you like to visit my suite, or is there somewhere better to meet you?

Your place would be most suitable for you, wouldn't it?

[ Definitely not trying to nose his way into a higher ranked suite or anything. ]

Any place would be fine, really. But I wouldn't mind staying in here, true. I'll put a clearance on your Watch information, so you should be able to just come right in.

[Kleken could spend time in his suite anytime he asked, probably. But at least Olivine isn't as foolish as to think he should make that access a permanent fixture...

And for what it's worth, Olivine will still be out in the living room when he arrives—just. Clutching a pillow and flopped on the couch, with his usual jewelry making supplies closed in their boxes and set next to the table. At least his eyes aren't too puffy, since it's been a while since he was last crying.]

[ Probably for the best that the access isn't a permanent feature; undoubtedly Splat will somehow get his way into Olivine's room without Kleken and then Kleken would have to have a very necessary duel to the death with his own son- ]

[ Not really, but the consideration to throw him into a pit would cross his mind. ]

[ Kleken arrives without much delay, as composed as ever, which is why he does seem to act with some surprise to see Olivine... Well, compromised is probably not the most tactful word for it but it is the one that comes to Kleken's mind. He does still offer a smile though, walking his way over to the couch with his tentacles trailing behind him. ]

You do look quite worn.

[the door slides open and Olivine does at least make an effort to sit up, rubbing an eye as Kleken speaks. it earns a little laugh, a little brittle.]

Apologies. I'm alright, really—it's just that a few people have... disappeared recently.

['disappeared,' he says, which Kleken probably knows by now is just code for "I probably just haven't found their statue yet." pulling his legs up a bit, he offers the Aurorian more space. from here, he'll be able to see the carefully-maintained kitchen off to one side, the hall leading into what is probably the bedroom and bath, and a gated-off side room—in which a big bunny may or may not be running around at the moment.]

Thank you... for stopping by. Can I get you anything?

[ Do ignore the way his tentacles spread out a bit behind him, taking in the room with their usual abundance of curiosity and need to pat their way over everything within touching range. They don't actually stray too far away from Kleken though, feeling what they can and simply observing the rest while the conman they're attached to observes the very soft and sad man in front of him. ]

Disappeared... I see.

[ ... He is so not emotionally equipped for this, is the general consensus between all of his brains as he settles down next to Olivine, legs crossing and body turned to the other man in full attention, as he deserved in these trying times. ]

[ He'd done an excellent job thusfar to not pay much heed to the coming and going of guests, bar a certain idol that shall remain sulkily tucked away into the corner of Kleken's mind, but his own lofty personality likely wasn't the norm. No, bonds of all sorts were regularly formed around the resort. With what he knew of Olivine, a man who so freely gave to those around him, it's hardly difficult for even Kleken to realize how certain disappearances would hurt him. ]

You needn't see to any of my needs, I make a habit of bringing my own wine. Rather, would you like a glass to... assist?

[ Listen, people drink away their problems, surely this is helping. ]

[Olivine does indeed ignore them, both because he has nothing particularly concerning or dangerous to them and because, well, grief. They'll likely find plenty to be curious about, from the tightly closed boxes to the row of plants on their shelf, and the occasional pen and notebook strewn about.]

Sometimes, I do wish there was at least some kind of warning.

[He chuckles, which is... probably as good a sign as any. The fidgeting is already starting to begin, now that he has company; Kleken will likely recall Olivine's habits of being very touchy when he can, to the point that he's struggling to keep his hands to himself for now.

Kleken's offer makes him smile, too. Last time, he might have taken it without any real thought...]

Ah—no, thank you. I rarely drink. [He'd suggested as much during their first meeting, of course, where Kleken had facilitated seeing that firsthand.] It's... mm. Would you mind if I just... leaned on you a little?

[The good news for the conman is Olivine is surprisingly easy to comfort. They've not talked much about the gritty details of his life, but he's had plenty of loss to get over.]

[ At least they're much easier to occupy than Kleken, particularly a Kleken who has his eye cautiously on Olivine and is actively doing his best to read the man's emotions. A challenge to someone who only activates his empathy (however much of it he has remaining by this point) when he needs to fake it for a deal. ]

If only things were so convenient.

[ When his trusty wine offering fails to work as a solution to all of life's problems, there's a hot moment where Kleken scrambles through all of his brains to think of something equally comforting to offer the man. Only to have Olivine put forth his own desires. Of... a simple touch? ]

Oh... Yes. Of course.

[ He brushes away the momentary startled expression that passes over his face at the simple request, smoothing it back down into his usual sense of composure. ]

If you would find some comfort in the embrace of the sea, I would offer its likeness in my arms to you.

[ Nailed it. ]

Mm. Although there's a chance it would feel worse still, knowing something was coming.

[Kleken's surprise is enough to make him smile a little, mostly just amused that he's not caught on to how simple Olivine actually is. Or maybe just because he's relieved to be able to just put himself in someone's arms again. Both?]

Your company alone would be plenty, Kleken.

[It's a moment of particularly blunt honesty; he's fully aware of the conman's habit of hyperbole, but in the state he's in now... well, he's lucky Olivine isn't even more blunt. Instead, he shifts to slide his feet to the other side, working around any lingering tentacles to nestle himself among them as much as leaning (lightly, he knows how Thick he is) on Kleken.]

Thank you. This feels much better.

Yes, that would be the negative.

[ Though Kleken may be a notably lankier and almost delicate man, his tentacles more than make up for that. Those that aren't occupied with exploring the room are moving up onto the couch, helping to support Olivine's weight against Kleken and giving him something comfortably squishy and living to surround himself with. ]

[ For once, there's no suggestive intent behind their movements. No sneaking into clothing, or alluring touches, or coaxing strokes. Instead, there's a protective air to the way they lay themselves over and around the priest, and it's actually the conman's hand that raises after some hesitation to rest over Olivine's head. It's both awkward and comfortable, which reflects how Kleken himself is feeling in this situation where he wants to comfort a man and has only the most superficial concepts of how. ]

I'm pleased to be of assistance.

[As they curl around him, Olivine finds himself absently petting the soft surface of a few tentacles. He hardly even notices he's doing so before Kleken rests a hand over his head—at which point he peers up at the conman, another small smile on his face.]

If it becomes uncomfortable, please let me know. [He's a little relieved, too, that Kleken seems to earnestly want to give him this comfort. It would be hard not to guess he's unused to it, given his penchant for lies.] I'm relieved to not be alone again. I guess I'm not as used to it anymore.

[and so he rambles, without any real expectation for reciprocation—Kleken will no doubt have little trouble reading his movements. Of course, they haven't really talked about any reason he would be "used to" being alone—it's fine, surely.]

You are quite comfortable, sweet sailor.

[ Though cuddling after sex was something Kleken was well-familiar with, actively enjoyed and indulged in whenever given the chance, cuddling without the layer of sexual intention around it was... interesting. Intriguing, even. He couldn't tell if he liked it or not. He enjoyed the physical closeness it brought, the warmth of another body against his own pleasant, but the element of emotional vulnerability tied to it sat uneasily in his gut. ]

[ Sharing this with Olivine made the process easier- less dangerous feeling to him. Whether it was out of some level of trust for the man or that he felt he wasn't a danger to him was unclear, but the priest was. Acceptable. ]

You could call me if you're in need of company. Or perhaps my child could keep you company when I can not.

[he would be happy to be considered "acceptable," really. especially with his situation making it more of a relief just to have connection at all, he'd have been just as content to just... lie here silently. not alone, but quiet.

Kleken's comment makes him lift his head though, blinking up at the man.]

Your child...? I would be happy to call on you for company, but I wasn't aware you had something of a child here.

[he isn't silly enough to think it's an actual human(oid) child, but still. the only one he has so far is a bird—]

He is a recent addition. Born and bred of the resort.

[ The switch of topics is a comfortable one, allowing him to focus on age-old habits of making something objectively terrible into something questionably enticing. A con, if you will. ]

And rather in need of... a gentle and guiding hand.

[ Splat was currently at risk of turning out like his father-figure and even Kleken didn't want more of that energy in the world. ]

I see... so it is something like Brave, then. Ah—Brave is a bird that Eiden and I raised from an egg some time ago.

[true to his nature, there's only a brief wry smile to that statement, thumb brushing over Kleken's side.]

If you need some help with him, I'm happy to do what I can. I've raised quite a few creatures, and I do handle a few children back in the church.

[please, no one needs a kleken jr version of Splat.]

[ Kleken has had the dubious honor of meeting his other child as of late, kept in the care of the far more responsible Baizhu. He rather thinks that one takes more after its mother than its father. ]

[ The light touch it met with Kleken's fingers, brushing coolly against Olivine's warm hand in something resembling comforting. As close to it as Kleken can get in a way that wasn't outright seducing the man. ]

I'd be most appreciative in that case.

[ Free babysitter, yes- ]

[which "it," he's not entirely sure—but it doesn't matter much. Far more interesting to worry about is the prospect of another creature to help keep him busy, to gently slip away from his grief a little...]

Mm, what do you know about him so far? It'll help me to take the best care of him I can, if you don't mind.
